In recent years, the incidence of infertility in China has been gradually increasing, exceeding 15%, with at least half of infertility cases related to male factors. Among every 100 couples of reproductive age, 15 encounter difficulties in conceiving, with at least 7 of these due to male factors. Male infertility has become a major disease affecting men's physical and mental health, family marriage, and social stability.

The development of assisted reproductive technology has brought new hope to infertile couples, enabling the majority of male infertility patients to have their own offspring. Assisted reproductive technologies include artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization (IVF), providing various options for infertile couples.

In the context of normal female reproductive systems, from the perspective of eugenics, male reproductive methods can be divided into several types:

First is natural intercourse, which is a very optimal method. Improve the quality of sperm in male infertility patients through medication and other methods, while maintaining adequate and regular sexual activity. Both partners should closely cooperate, engaging in sexual activity every 3 to 4 days, which helps increase the chances of natural pregnancy.

Second is intrauterine insemination (IUI), which has become the preferred method of assisted reproductive technology for infertile women with patent fallopian tubes. Artificial insemination is performed during the female partner's ovulation period, with washed and optimized sperm injected into the female partner's uterine cavity, facilitating the union of sperm and egg within the body.

The first generation of IVF involves retrieving sperm and eggs from infertile couples, fertilizing them in a laboratory dish, and then transplanting them into the female partner's uterus to achieve pregnancy. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), the second generation of IVF, involves injecting a single sperm directly into the egg to achieve fertilization, suitable for severe sperm abnormalities.

Finally, the third generation of IVF (PGD/PGS) involves selecting healthy embryos through genetic diagnosis and transferring them into the uterine cavity to prevent the occurrence of various genetic diseases.

In summary, male infertility patients should undergo targeted treatment after identifying the cause and choose the most suitable reproductive method to achieve the goal of eugenics.
